The Hampshire Bow single wooden gate is crested by an open style curved heading to create a focal point of interest.
To ensure that all our Wooden Gates are of the highest quality, our skilled craftsmen hand-make each wooden gate to your bespoke measurements. Wortley Brothers are the only UK-based wooden gate manufacturer to offer custom sizes made to the millimetre. At nearly three inches thick (70mm), our wooden gates are constructed using a heavy-duty planed 95 x 70 mm framework, fully planed tongue and groove boards and marine grade stainless steel pins, employing time honoured carpentry skills, mortise and tenon joints are created which are then glued and dowelled to fortify them for maximum strength.
We only use the very best premium grade Scandinavian Redwood timber and African Iroko Hardwood. All this, and Wortley Brothers can fully manufacture and deliver your made-to-measure matching side panels in the United Kingdom fastest made-to-measure lead time.

Introducing the (Fully Factory Finished Option) for our wooden gates. Our goal is to provide you with the highest-quality product that will withstand the test of time and the elements. We factory-finish these by professionally spraying 2 x hi-build coats for ultimate protection.
We even coat the tongue and groove boards individually before construction, ensuring even the inner parts are also fully protected your wooden gates will be ready to install with a full factory finish as soon as they are delivered.
Our premium coatings are a combined primer mid & topcoat, so it is effortless to reapply if you require to re-coat or refresh your gates in the future; simply re-coat straight over with no preparation work making effortless maintenance for your gates This is the Wortley Brothers difference — professional coatings that last!
Premium Graded Scandinavian Redwood
We only use the very best premium grade Scandinavian Redwood timber, making the end product far superior than our competitors this in turn minimises the timber from moving, swelling, shrinking and warping and ensures that your wooden gates are of the highest quality and durability. By contrast to standard timber, which most other wooden gate companies use, which is cut directly from the tree in length form and still contains all the pre-existing knots, moisture and imperfections. Our Premium Scandanavian Redwood costs us 35% more than standard timber - a cost which we carry ourselves and do not reflect back in our prices to you. This is an extremely durable timber with great strength capabilities which looks fantastic when made into our 70mm thick wooden gates.
African Iroko Hardwood is sourced from the west coast of tropical Africa and comparing well with teak is very strong and durable which is also reported to be naturally resistant to decay and rot even before any treatment is applied making this beautiful premium grade hardwood last for years and years.
